Same Score, 2 Different Games!

Hi Guys and Gals,

I had the Founders Open 36 Hole Stableford, played over 2 days, Sat & Sunday.

Firstly what a weekend.... Lovely to see Summer has finally turned up

Day 1: My Driving issue's mentioned already, came to haunt me from the start, my head just would not let me swing the Driver confidently, so had a rough time off the Tee's to say the least, but my Putting was just amazing, I was dropping them in from all over the place, which just kept me in the game, well, my game anyway
Score: Front 9 =17 - Back 9 =18 Total 35 Points

Day 2: I had decided over night to take the positives from the Tee's, just get on with it. So on the first Tee, I did the Happy thoughts thing, some one posted on here yesterday, smile, well I put my boy in my mind whilst taking my swing, it worked to a degree, I have found my straight shot and my slice, which is a lot better the not knowing where it's going So Driver did not give me too much trouble, but my Putting did, I must have lipped out or was a couple of rolls short on 12-14 holes, costing me a load of shots, the greens had speed up, heat had hardened them a gooden, so very quick:
Score Front 9 =17 - Back 9 18 Total 35 Points

2 different games but scores the same

Playing Monday, so hoping to put both games together and score 45 points

I've had about 15 squillion same occasions over the last 8 weeks, well, maybe 5 or 6.

I played 36 holes on the bounce last week, played the front 9 and had a bit of a mare with my driver, nothing too bad though but felt I wasnt doing myself justice and scored 34 points.

Walked off the 18th green onto the 1st tee and went round again, this time my driver was ace but my irons were a bit slipshod...result was 35 points!

Isnt it this that keeps us coming back for more & more & more?

OK, as I was hoping to play today and put both rounds together to make a good one I did, played the Swindle, only 6 of us turned up, 2x 3 balls, £3 in, winner takes all. Its Medal play, we have to putt out.

Front 9=42 21 Points. Back 9=43 21 Points Gross 85 for Nett 66 42 Points


Why the hell did I not do that in the comp over the weekend Bloody Game......

Great weekend golf, weather was fantastic, I am nursing some burns today, even though I put on the Lotion all 3 days.

We had the Stone Cup on this weekend (two rounds of stableford on any of the three days - you choose when to play and roll up). I had a battling 36 points on Saturday which was better than I deserved as I didn't hit the ball great especially on the front nine and frittered some shots. I also had several pieces of good luck too. At least I hadn't put myself out of contention and was hitting the ball great in practice before going out yesterday morning.

As soon as I teed it up I felt everything was out of kilter and a double and a blobbed second set the tone. Everytime I battled back with a couple of pars (net birdies) I'd suddenly throw another bad hole in. In the end I amassed a paltry 29 points to finish well down the pack.

The thing was on Saturday I didn't feel like I could score and did and yesterday felt like I was going to hit the ball well and couldn't
