RUM

I got a message from Salford Rum about a new one they have just made. Duerrs Marmalade with some spices. Well the wife is going to Manchester on Saturday so I tried to coax her into picking me a bottle up. Too late. The lot was gone in THREE HOURS !!!!!! They are doing another run in January so will place my order for it. My stocks will be needing a top up by then.

If there was one job I would love for a day it’s going behind the scenes re how these rum distillery’s come up with the recipes for these rums. Marmalade in Rum. 😳

I was very close to opening a bottle of Santa tTeresa 1796 yesterday. I had a quick read up on the rum.
There website had this to say.

palate

Unique taste of nuts, leather, vanilla, cinnamon, dark chocolate, prunes, hints of honey and pepper.

How does he you even come up with these recipes 😳

Please forgive my ignorance but never been a rum drinker.
I have been bought a bottle of Appleton estate for Xmas.
Is it any good and more importantly what should I drink it with?

Probably depends on which bottle it is. That said I would suggest whoever bought you the bottle gave it a bit of thought rather than buying you a named popular bottle.
Appletons is a good brand. If it’s a better bottle neat would be fine. But me being a commoner, it’s either with coke, ice and a slice or this time Of the year a good hot chocolate.
Missis T was on a night out and a guy sat a glass of rum Over a glass with hot water. The steam realised the flavours in the Rum 😳👍

Cheers Tash.
I have no idea of which bottle it is to be honest.
I’ll crack it open at some point over Xmas and decide from there what to put it with

A nice tipple that. As Tash said can’t beat a little coke mixer. However if you want to take it a up a level and have a little flavour sensation, couple of ice cubics a finger or two as a measure for the rum and topped off with a nice ginger beer 🤤. A nice spiced winter warmer then 👌

We got some Ginger beer kicking about so I’ll give that a go. Cheers
