Is there any penalty involved if you hole out and leave your ball in the cup while your opponent holes out

..can't find one.....dont see how this would effect your opponent so guessing that no penalty exists...but ready to be corrected.

Cannot see how there can be as in theory you could both get a hole in one at the par 3's

Dont see why as the way I look at it once the ball is in the whole its out of play, untill you drive off the next tee ofcourse!
