I'm playing there this week and looking forward to it. Anyone got any cunning local knowledge to share?

In fact, anyone know the ladies yardage? Website leaves a lot to be desired! :)

I believe club was in a bit of trouble recently, which is a shame for such an old and famous course/club, so that could explain website chaos.

Was first course I played in Scotland (in 2000!). Was pleasant enough and last few holes are particularly tough. Clubhouse is rather grand and contains/contained oldest trophy still played for in golf! Was my intro to 'Stovies'!

its nothing great played last year, some very short par 4s driver, wedge, nice finish from about 14 in, greens were not bad at all, clubhouse very special building

Nice wee course - nothing too complicated. the last couple of holes are a bit more undulating and the greens are a bit tricker, but on the whole its a straightforward pretty parkland course.

scampi is good
cheese toastie is average

pro shop doesnt stock much ladies stuff so you can leave your credit card at home

i like the course, plays similar to prestonfield or ratho

have a great day out!
;)
