Superb condition at the moment, even with a couple of new greens ( course made longer)

only fault i can find is no shorts!!! it was baking and wasn't used to long trousers on the course after being in shorts since March

That windfarm... totally destroyed the views though
*Ends sarcasm*

I didn't actually get any photo's of the offshore windfarm which is just off the coast, that is just a solitary small unit in the industrial est back of the Aberdeen Conf center

edit, just spotted them in the background on image 8, i think they look quite impressive

Was great to meet you Patrick, glad you enjoyed the round.
Course has been in great condition all year - I actually preferred it when it was a bit firmer.

It was very kind of you to let me win as well;)

Will hopefully be able to get up the road and get a game in before the end of the season.

Thanks Colin, just return the favor when you come to Nairn;)

What greens have been done recently, I was aware they moved a few maybe 3 years or so ago but want aware of any more.

Still remains one of my favourite courses

15 was changed after the Walker Cup, winter of 2011. 18 was relaid in 2013. 2, 3, 4 & 12 were done the winter after the Scottish open was held here in 2014. And 5 was changed in 2016.

15 had a complete redwing changing the bunkering, raising the green and altering the 16 tee.
2 was lengthened by 40 yards and the green raised, and made more difficult to get and keep the ball on.
3rd green was changed significantly, again made more difficult to hit and keep the ball on the green, with more run offs to each side. Just what you need on a par 3 that’s over 200 yards from the medal tee.
4th and 5th no major changes, but some bunker re-alignment on 5 and a slight enlargement to the rear right hand side.
12 was lowered and some of the runs off softened.
18 no major changes.

All of the work is made necessary by time - a compacted soil layer has developed stopping proper root growth and turf quality. All of the construction work has been top quality and the surfaces have rolled well within 6 months of the start of the work. Hawtree did the design work - some of which has not been completely well received by the membership.

Love Royal Aberdeen, only played it once - a week or so before the walker cup was getting played there.

I'll have to get up there again and try and play in one of their opens.

Lovely clubhouse to sit and have a bevvy in afterwards, also.

No shorts. Seriously? I've heard of shorts and long socks, seen it in action and it is as ridiculous as it sounds, but no shorts at all is plain bizarre. In the recent weather that must have been plain uncomfortable.

Course looks lovely, beautiful condition, although it may eat a few balls.

I was sweltering TBH, a shock wearing LT after the last 6 months in shorts.

course was fairly forgiving TBH, the front 9 in pretty tight off the tee, but most holes feed down off the slopes if you are lucky. When we watched Rory play there at the Scottish open he was all over the place but still ended up in the middle of the fairway;)
