Just back from round one of my clubs 6 round team scramble event.

we played off a team handicap of 8 and ended up with a 66, net 58 for 48 points :)

5 points clear of 2nd place.

I contributed with a holed long putt at the 1st followed by a birdie chip in on the 2nd to put us -2 after 2. The rest of the round my short game was excellent and I holed out 4 more putts over 10ft. My long game was mediocre but my playing partners played great with some awesome 3 woods and long iron approach shots.

Best feeling I have ever had after a round of golf and can't wait for next week.

(I dont think the clubhouse clique were over enthused, makes it even sweeter)

haha, well as it was 3 tee shots from each player (teams of 4) I was glad to get mine out of the way early as the rest were utter pish!

I was short on a lot of approaches aswell. Luckily the Nike Hybrids are sold and my G10 3 wood and hybrid will be here before Woburn ;)

I bet they picked you to boost the team's handicap and were pleasantly surprised to find that you could chip and putt.

Thanks all. what with Liverpool winning and the golf on shortly its been a top sunday all round

Rosecott your probably right to be fair. Actually it was myself off 28, my 2 regular playing partners off 9 & 28 and another bloke off 11. What was good is that we all contributed at some stage so it was definitely a team effort.

That's what a scramble's all about - well played.

Well done Gibbo. I'm sure the confidence will soar through all parts of your game (til you hit the first timber at Woburn!). Good to see you playing well and always good when the cliques at a club get their noses put out of joint

hehe, very true Homer, lets just say our card was meticulously checked for errors at the end ;)

booking a lesson for this week to sort out my tee shot jitters. Wont cure them in just over a week but I intend on putting in plenty of range time between now and the 29th :D
