I thought after the masters last year he was in real danger of imploding, but the at the US open when he dismantled the field I thought to myself that it was only a matter of time until world no 1 and more majors become his. He really is a special talent and hope he can capitalise on it.

Great player but way too short a price with the bookies to win the Masters in my opinion. I hope he does win the Masters after last years collapse though and cements his place as world number one. I won't be backing him at 11/2 though and how Tiger is 6/1 I've no idea.

Over the last year or so my wife has been watching the golf and is a great fan of Rory however last night while watching the golf she made a profound statement:

"If he wears pink tomorrow he will blow it."

At first I thought this was womens logic, (sorry Amanda and the other female readers), however she went on to explain. "Every time he wears pink he has a bad round!"

Thinking back on various competitions and the times she's commented on it,she may have a point

He's a great player and probably will be no1 soon but I don't believe there's a gulf in class between him and the others as there was in tigers reign.

Hopefully the media will protect this lad and not hound him like they do with our young talented footballers.

Tee to green the only one on a par is Westwood but Rory's short game is sharper than Lees, Rory's putting is not even close to what Tigers was in full flow if it was there would be a multitude of course records shattered.

Keep playing like he has lately and maybe he'll bag a second major this year

i agree with everything that has been said.

i also think the difference between the likes of rory and luke is rory is more exciting to watch,and that will make him a very popular #1 player.

if he doesn't get there after todays round then i'm sure he'll be there very soon.it seems every comp he plays just now he is in the mix.....

what i like about rory's game just now is he can have a poor round with bad shots and bad holes but still shoot 3 or 4 under....thats scary!!

my first year of playing golf ,,i watch the pro golfers & i started to like Luke but I'm now starting to think he as no fire in is belly ,,i do like Rory's game but at the minute I'm liking Westwood is swing looks a little hard work like mine & he seams to relax & jokes with is caddy


just going back to Rory i do like the aggressive play its all or nothing with him ,,hope he become a legend within the game


I'm sick of hearing the commentator talking about that other chap

Rory's golf is phenomenal at the moment. Cracking long game, decent short game and solid putting. He's still got to prove he has the links game though...
