Rors & Fitzgerald

Easy to look at stats in isolation, was his putting average so good because he was scrambling a lot therefore many putts were from short distance?
Yes mate, sorry if it didn't come across well, he's had to sharpen his scrambling and putting recently due to the fact his long game isn't at its best, his fir's and gir's have gone back from where he was.

Not sure who will end up on the bag and whether it'll be a long term deal. I can see Rory and Fitzgerald getting back together at a later date especially once Rory gets his game sorted and back to competing regularly. It can be a good thing for a player to get a fresh persepctive from the caddy and it's hardly uncharted territory

If he'd like to send me the airfare I'm free and I'm from Belfast too.

We could maybe have a trial over his next two comps and if I think he's any good I might give him six months.

Pretty good start to the WGC on a course that McIlory likes and does well at

He is very close to really clicking

Some quotes from Rory's interview with the BBC (linked to above):
'JP has been a huge part of my life for the past decade, but I was getting very hard on him at times'
'sometimes to preserve a personal relationship you have to sacrifice a professional one'
'I hate the term fired or axed, it definitely wasn't what it was. I changed my path a little bit but it was just a build-up of stuff, I felt I needed to make that change'

If the relationship between them was getting strained then I think it's probably the right move to get another caddie. Hope it works out for Rory.

Yes saw the interview and it seems he was very genuine about the reason.
Golf can drag you down and taking people close to you down with you is not good.

He also said that he could re-unite with JP in the future and personally I can see that happening.
