A very good friend of mine passed as a result of MND a few years ago. A truly awful disease.

A great player who I admired enormously, even though he played for a competitive team. Skillful, hard as nails, and a great clubman.
He fought MND as hard as he played his Rugby. RIP Rob. You will be missed, but you will be remembered.

Gutted, really sad news.
What a legacy he will leave behind. Not just his rugby, obviously his family, but the fundraising and profile raising for MND. Very sad news.

I've shed a tear or two. Look at the man. In his prime. What an athlete. How he continued with such dignity is testament to the legend he truly was.

An unbelievable athlete, Amanda. Defied all the odds during his career, and continued to defy them after his diagnosis, and all with the sort of humility and dignity most can only dream of.

When you contrast that picture there to the one a few years later being carried over the finishing line by his friend Kev Sinfield you can see laid bare the devastation this disease causes.
The only consolation is that he's at peace. The rest is unfair in the extreme. And a terrible injustice.
