The Daily Mash website is quite funny (I have them on Facebook so I see them via there) but I watched the program once or twice and wasn't that great. I don't think Nish Kumar was a great choice of host, I don't think he's that funny. Or at least, he's not funny in the right kind of satirical way for that sort of program, it seemed an odd fit.

That's an excellent shout. Nish is kind of too wide-eyed and, well, flimsy.Needs a David Mitchell type to make it work.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mash_ReportI don't think The Daily Mash and The Mash Report had any connection.

The Mash Report is a British satirical comedy on BBC Two. It was hosted by Nish Kumar with an array of comedians satirising the week's news.[1] First aired on 20 July 2017, it is a TV show spin-off of The Daily Mash, a satirical website.
I don't see them as the same thing. Day Today was pretty much total invention, whereas Mash at least parodies a real life news story that has taken place that week. I would say Mock The Week is closer to the mark.It was an OK programme but not quite up with it's predecessors such as 'The Day Today'
