Richmond GC Surrey

If it's this one, absolutely top drawer.

Fastest greens I've ever putted on. Terrifying. They were getting the course ready for a big competition and it was in amazing nick. They'd had a stimpmeter out and measured them at 12 or 13. I was a gibbering wreck by the time I'd finished.

If you're playing there, you're in for a treat. Lovely clubhouse and fantastic food.

It is that one. Thanks for the information.
Mate of mine won a fourball there in a "silent auction" at a Charity day on Saturday and has invited me up to play there with him.
He didn't know much about the course although he had obviously heard of it.
Their website doesn't give a lot of information on the actual course so I wanted to find out what it was like.
As I say, thanks for the response. Looking forward to it now. I was terrified you were going to say it was a Goatus Trackus
;)

There are some nice enough holes out there but it's usually always packed so it's five hours a round. And it's full of chavs and people in jeans. I've even seen someone having a piss in the middle of the fairway there whilst waiting for the green ahead to clear.

Actually come to think of it, that was Richmond PARK GC - there is a Richmond GC on the other side of the park that is a private club unlike the pay, play and stray course that is the 36-hole complex by the Roehampton Gate.

I hope you're going to be at the private one!

It's the private one
:D

Fastest greens I've ever putted on.

You'll have a mare

I love fast greens Bob.
Slow ones are the problem

Be careful what you wish for! They were crazy fast. Really scary.

Now that I've told you that they'll probably be slow as anything but they were horrendous that day. I had at least three 4 putts that day. Now I'm always good for a 3 putt every now and again, but 4 putting is almost unheard of for me. Until Richmond Golf Club.

Looking forward to hear what you think.

Er, that's dogs, not bitches Smiffy, and a 55 year old dog is going to smell a bit as it will have been dead for 20 years minimum.

Anyway, thought you only went for monkeys?
