Played at my club for the 1st time since November today. Reached the 3rd (par 5 712yds off the whites) and saw the wonderful sight of a new tee box under construction about 50yds in front of the yellow one.
I'd heard rumours there were plans to shorten it but refused to believe them until I saw it. Looks like the yellow tee will become the new white so can look forward to it now only being 664 in comps.

They should save some money on the skip they hire in next to the 4th tee for discarded medal cards.

Shouldn't that be a par 6. I'm sure there are other long holes like this around that aren't 5's. Let's be honest a lot of us will be hitting driver, 2 x 3/5 woods and still a shortish iron in so not exactly a birdie opportunity
