Decision made, and really looking forward to a new challenge. There's not much wrong with the course I'm leaving, a typical dry links with decent greens, but boredom allied to a lack of ambition by some...'nough said.

The new home ...http://www.wynyardgolfclub.co.uk/

A varied layout with no two holes the same. A very good clubhouse, great food and reasonable prices.

Good luck with the new challenge big decision after a long spell at a club. Hope it works out well although it seems winter golf maybe a little more restricted.

Good luck with the new place, looks a decent track and the fact you are bored playing where you are at now should make it a smooth transition

so I go to the link, and the first thing I see.........

Friday 22nd November 2013: COURSE CLOSED - NEXT INSPECTION 9AM

They don't do frost greens, prefering to close them till the frost is out of the greens... and I don't do lots of winter golf, so no probs there.

Good luck, hope it works out for you. Now to the important bit....how much can you sign guests in for? :D

Its was a bit strange John. Previously, when joining somewhere its been a jacket and tie, interview thing. I felt like I was interviewing the Director of Golf. Its cheap to sign someone in, and then there's the actual (negotiated) price you might sign them in for...

Glad you bit the bullet Bri - I'm pretty certain I'm going to join there next year as like I said to you, want to get back playing comps again. I really like the place - good day out and feels like your away from things. They've also managed to plant all the trees so that you don't get views of the Boro skyline!!

Interesting. Can't imagine ever wanting to leave a links course if ever I were fortunate enough to live close enough to be a member of one! Must have been the temptation of a Seve Trophy venue...

Played Wynyard once a few years ago - very nice opening hole and a good front nine.
