guys, is this happening to anyone else? i have had a couple in the past few days... get a message along the lines of "your message needs to be moderated before its live"

I would appreciate my post in the Rules of Golf "Virtually Certain" thread being cleared.

Happy New Year all you over-worked and by now thoroughly fed up moderators.

Why is it that there are so many posts requiring mod approval??

I've seen a few now that appear an hour or so later and so confuse the look of the thread and mean some relevant points to the subject are missed?

Is it swear filters? Or length??

It's not happened to me very often, but when it has I've usually dithered deciding what to write or got sidetracked by something else. I think it may be if the post takes a while from starting to submitting.

Just had another, so please Mod.

I agree with the 'dithering' seeming to be a factor. I've changed my posting technique and this was the first for quite a while.

Hmmm - I only put a one liner through just now and it needed modding?? Either way it would be helpful to know so we could avoid doing it.
I've been following a couple of threads and gone back in to catch up to see a reply quoted that I'd never seen before and had to retrace the whole thread to see it in context.

Mods - this isn't a moan btw, just some info would be good. :)

It's a problem that has been around for a wee while now. GM are aware and it is a known issue. Can't say any more than that I'm afraid.

Another one!

just one?

I'm finding it extremely frustrating because longer, structured, responses end up out of place and, as someone's picked up above, making it difficult for others following a thread to understand.

given the number (every day now) the mods must be getting pretty fed up with it too!

In no way having a pop at anyone but this has been going on a bit now - is there nothing that can be done?
As Duncan/Robo say, posts get missed as they're not posting at the right time -this must be creating loads of work for the Mods.

Shurely shome Techhie-type can sort it......?

The fat controller had a look and couldn't figure it out and he is a v bulletin expert type. We mods have zero access to the behind the scenes stuff so can't do anything (not that I would know where to start) will out it to him again to see if anything has shown up.

Annoying as it is, I have to have sympathy with the 'lack of success' eliminating the problem.

Remember that the purpose of this referral is to prevent spamming, so the algorithm through which posts get sent to Mods for checking has to be rather secure - otherwise that spammers will be able to work around it!

It does mean a bit of extra work for Mods, but hopefully they are not busy anyway!

Now, I wonder whether this post is going to trigger it !
