Hi guys. I am familiar with the concept of having to take FULL relief, but have recently heard 'maximum possible relief' Can anyone clarify if this exists or not for me?

It also applies to GUR or Casual Water on the putting green.

Rule 25-1b
. Abnormal Ground Conditions
(iii)
On the Putting Green:
If the ball lies on the
putting green, the player must lift the ball and place it, without penalty, at the nearest point of relief that is not in a hazard or, if complete relief is impossible, at the nearest position to where it lay that affords maximum available relief from the condition, but not nearer the hole and not in a hazard. The nearest point of relief or maximum available relief may be off the putting green.

Welcome back AF!

I think, though it's bit of a guess, that Colin deleted his post because it was a duplicate of Rulefan's.

I suspect he hasn't realised that as part of the 'Amend' feature, there is also a 'Delete' one!

No, it was a reference to the same thing in bunkers but I realised it was already said in the piece ruff driver linked us to.

But, yes, I hadn’t noticed a delete function.
