Oddly this came up today - lots of tracks of heavy tractor being used to collect trees that had been thinned out.

One of our group wanted relief but when we measured and NPR was in a worse position (in trees) he decided to play as it lay.

Nothing on card about relief and we hadn’t looked in clubhouse for a local rule.

It seemed common sense that relief should be available as it could have been greenkeepers workings or abnormal ground condition

You should see some of the ones on our course caused by players taking buggies where they should not in wet conditions.

Perhaps it's because our buggy users are sensible; perhaps it's because we don't allow buggies if the conditions are that bad; or perhaps it's because I'm too innocent and assume that ruts must have been made by course maintenance equipment not by plonkers in buggies. :)
