Regripping Query/Conundrum

Evening all.

For years I've always regripped my own clubs without issue, until tonight.

I've always used the 2" pre cut strips of grip tape and never had issue.

Ive always got spare grip tape in so didn't bother ordering any more when I ordered the grips from Gamola.

Turns out that the stuff I have left is only 1.3/4" instead of 2".

Where this came from I have no idea

Obviously shafts taper from butt to tip so there is a 1/4", give or take, gap towards the butt that tapers to fit together with the shaft.

Will this gap cause issue or is it best to bin this stuff and order fresh 2"?

Any real real world experience appreciated :thup:

Just cut the tape down the middle and use the spiral method to apply the tape

I just run mine length ways down the shaft, overlapping at the head end and sometimes a very slight gap at the butt end. Never had any issues
