Tony, read your account of your round where you played very well. Could it be due to the fact that you were only 3/4 swinging?

Looks like you have more control, ok, your drives aint the longest with the shortened swing, but at least they seem more accurate.
Stick with the 3/4 swing mate. It looks like it works well for you......and you'll still lurve the sticks when the newness has worn off!

I recently hurt my back a day before I was due to play Hellidon lakes, and had to pull out.

Lucky you. I went there once. Unfortunately I did not hurt my back so had to play it. One of the worst courses I have ever had the misfortune to walk around. Apologies to anybody who may be a member there....
