Afternoon all
One of the things to come out of the recent reader survey and small focus groups we ran in September was how popular the reader test panel feature was so for 2010 we have decided to add a new major element for 2010 (April issue onwards).
There will still be the regular section (one page rather than two) where a number of readers report back on different products but we are introducing a new 3 page feature attached to that where one fourball who play together on a regualr basis all get fitted for an item of equipment, some apparel or a pair of shoes and then test the item throughly for 4-6 weeks (on course, at the range etc) then give their feedback.
We are recruting for this via pages in the next issue (on sale Dec 30) but as usual we like to give forumers the chance to get invloved first.
You will need to give up some of of your time for the fitting/feedback and be happy to be featured in the magazine but you will get to keep whatever you are testing!
We plan to take this feature round the UK over the next 12 months but in order to get product in people's hands before the Xmas holidays and enough time to meaningfully test it before our dealdine for the April issue we will be doing the first two within striking distance of GM towers.
So, if you can get yourself plus 3 others who you regularly play with together and avaliable for next Tuesday (Dec 22) then here's what we are doing
Midlands (probably the Belfry) Galvin Green test - one of thier new 2010 range suits.
SE (probably The Grove) FootJoy test - new pair of shoes from their 2010 range
If you fancy getting invloved in either of these opportunities next Tuesday (or indeed wnat to add your name to the database for future tests) please email Paul O'Hagan paul_o'hagan@ipcmedia.com with the following info
Names, ages and handicaps of all 4 golfers. Daytime contact number for the group leader
As I say, the plan is to visit Scotland Wales Ireland to get 4 balls from everywhere invloved so do send Paul your details even if you dont live in the Midlands/SE or can't do next week
all the best
