Yesterday I re-gripped a big bertha I recently won on ebay, this morning when I got up the new group is nice and firm, however the actual grip feels a bit greasy/slippery like there is moisture on it (too much white sprit meaning its not dried out and begun to seep through?)

anyone got any advice for how I could dry it out by tomorrow? bit timid about trying anything with heat to dry it out whilst I don't really know what effect this will have. Any help as this was the first time I have ever re-gripped? currently I have it wrapped in a towel...

cheers

everything I read said 12 hours drying time but I did think there is no way I would want to use it 12 hours later, I will leave it to air out for now then and see what I think in the morning tomorrow and maybe take my old driver.

cheers

I played the next day after I had my irons regripped. The guy even told me the 9 iron was still settling a little bit and to keep it away from my other clubs on the way home and this was perfectly fine the next day..

Parmo, they were probably just finding reasons for you to stop hacking up the course for a couple of days ;)

Taking of rubbish, I have just cancelled my FJ Synr-g's and gone for Ecco's instead, did think though I might stick some extra padding on a £50 pair of shoes and up the cost by 150%.

I got all of my irons regripped (to change grip size, not because they were worn) and could use them day after. I bought my 3 wood out of a bargain bin for £20 and asked if i could get it regripped to match the rest of my clubs and they did that and told me not to use it off the first tee, but it should be fine after that! It was, and it still is.

Are there not a variety of different adhesives the pros use with different setting times?

I doubt it, I would imagine all the tape is pretty much the same, they don't actually sell grip tape in the pro shop I got it from but do in the main place in town that stocks them, but the pro is the guy who does my lessons when I have them so he just taped enough for me onto the actual grip so I didn't have to drive to the other place. Who says lessons are expensive ah, haven't paid full price for anything since I started :D

well chuffed as it matches the grip on my tour edge 3 wood :)

no it was off my uncle, its a tour edge exotics, I was asking about them as a brand on here just over a month ago. He had a driver but I wasn't keen on that as it had a really unusually shape, but I loved the 3 wood when I tried it so got them off him.

When I was an assistant and re-gripping seemed to be all I would do some days I used white spirit and the clubs would always be ready in 24 hours max. I have done my own at home before first thing (about 8.00am) and used them later that day (about 4.00pm) but its not to be recommended.

just out of interest did you re grip with a tour velvet? these always felt greasy to me regardless of what lube I used. :D

Sorry mate. Wrong forum. Far too rude for my delicate ears.

If SWMBO read that, she'd wonder what sort of forum I've been hanging around :o
