Here is my new routine on the range which I just started yesterday.
I played a sequence of wood, iron, PW to simulate the sequence I might play on the course. Each shot became the first attempt at a new location.
This was a more realistic approach for me and although there were few really good shots it gave me a view of what it would be like in real play.

Not a bad idea.
Try visualising the course you play at. Hit the club you are most likely to use on each tee. Look at the shot you've just played and try to visualise how far left to the pin (or lay-up) and play that shot. Basically play each hole on your course in your mind - even chips. Give yourself 2 putts each green and see what your score is at the end. You can always try to beat your best and you wont lose any balls in the rough!

I think you would be better to practice on a psecific area of your game on each visit.

By all means do a warm up through the clubs, but stick to your long game, or mid irons, short game. On each visit work specifically on making a good swing and contact with the ball and do not worry about distance. Also pick a target and try to stay focused on it.

I think this would be more beneficial than going out to rapidly whack 100 balls or so into the distance.

I maight be wrong but works for me.

When I go down to the range now I usually spend 5 minters stretching, then slowly hit 5 balls with a 54 wedge towards the 100 yards pin trying to get a nice rhythm going then move up to a 9 iron again just hitting 5 balls this is repeated with a steadily build up of speed and accuracy with the 7 and 8 irons.
Then with the next 30 balls, I then practice hitting a green which is about 135yd to the front of the green and 160yd to the back of the green with my 6 iron always concentrating on a full swing with power and accuracy by the way this is all done with a work station on the floor.
With the remaining 50 balls I hit a mixture of shots with the rest of clubs in my bag, also I keeping a record of bad shots only 6 the last time I was there.

I use to start with my wedges and work through my bag unless I was working on something specific but now I am focussing more with the shorter clubs (7 and down) as that is where the business end of scores come from. It seems to be working as even if I say so myself my short irons today were all over the flags.

I'm going to try and focus on 70% of my range work being with short clubs and a large amount of that 70% will be on pitching and chipping and only 30% to the longer game unless my swing really goes off. Last year I was too intent on hitting full shots through the bag and couldn't get up and down enough. I've learnt my lesson and if I want to get to 10 I need a decent short game.

I don't get to hit a ball for at least 10 minutes....

Then, some drills and shots with 6/7 iron. If it doesn't go well, this might be IT!

Up a bit, 5i, 3H, 3w, Dr, then wedges and short irons (like Homer, for scoring practice.)....

End with a few big dogs.....
