Range or cheeky 9

Davey

I go to darnford moors Lichfield, but its no where near as good as golf direct at Walsall (calderfields). Nice to find my first local lad on here that plays!

Will now opt for the cheeky 9 in the further as I really did get bored at the range.

Ok cool, if you ever fancy a round at Calderfields give me a shout. Have you played Seedy Mill? Always wondered what its like? Just moved from sutton down to near Calderfields now... Membership is up in May so looking around :-)

Got to be 9 holes all the way ,the trouble with the range is you soon forget the bad shots and focus on the good ones , on the course you have different shots to play , from different angles around the course. and its not on those stupid mats

Im also currently looking..... Off to seedy mill tomorrow to meet the team about memberships. The chase in Cannock/Penkridge is a nice course... But I love hawkesyard estate (St Thomas priory).

Will defo be up for a game some point. If you DM me (if you can on this... I'm new to it)

Yeah you can - you just need to click on the persons name and its on the next page. I have always wondered what the priory was like, its always on teeofftimes for really cheap.

Let me know how you get on tomorrow bud

Will do!!

I you et chance play the Priory! It's well worth it... There doin a couple of minor alterations on one of the greens... But the course is well looked after and I don't think there ever on winter greens as they look after them!
Also a challenging par5 I think it was a 600yard beast! Awesome views as well!

It can be really quiet at my course in the afternoons that I can play 9 and practice at the same time ,hitting a few balls on each hole ,10 mins a bunker, practice my putting, etc
Can't afford to go to the range too much and our practice area gets a bit wet.If I have a spare couple of hours thats what I will do.
I don't mind the range, but like to spend useful time there, not just smashing balls.

I've not long ago joined Seedy Mill (well, Lichfield Golf & Country club as its now called) as they offered me a good deal on golf & gym for me, golf for my son and gym for the missus. Played 3 rounds now and each time I play I like the course even more. Very much a course to plot your way around and think about the best place to play your approach from.

Give me a shout if you fancy a knock around there.

I'm finding less and less benefit from using the range which I tend to do now only when I have less then an hour to spare or when I take my kids along. I am consistently hitting well at the range only for that to be an entirely different matter on the course. So I play 9 holes whenever I get the chance.

Cheeky 9 everytime for me.

We have 3x 9 holes to choose from so it's all good.

It is good to go to the range but you are just hitting the same shot with no variation i.e. ball above your feet, how thick the grass is and so on

I only go to the range if the course is closed or if I have something to work on after a lesson, otherwise its a quick 9 holes everytime.

Keef....Up for a round any time....Feel free to PM...

There always calling me about membership and just yesterday received a letter inviting me to try the course out!

Good healthy mix, I did near 2 hours of range and short game area practice tonight. The next time I go I will do as many holes as I can before dark, the time after that its back on the range again. To get better you need a good mix of course time and structured practice in the short game areas plus a bit of target practice.

With it being a lot lighter at night now..there are some superb twighlight deals in our area....18 holes for £10 after 6. Would be tight with light at the moment but in the summer will be spot on!

I'd rather go on local playing field with a load of practise balls than go to range. At least your hitting off grass & different lies. Obviously weather permitting
