Hi,
Have got the offer of a R9 but it has no tool or book with it, it is a ex demo with a upgraded shaft. My problem is that it is a 10.5 degree and would rather a 9.5 I think it is possiable to adjust it to that but can't find out how to do so on the Taylormade web site. Hopefully will be able to borrow a tool but the guy i am getting it off has lost the instruction book. Also will a R7 tool fit the R9.
Thanks Mike

Mike,
It will fit but its not reccomended as the R7 tool is a different torque to the R9.

Phil.

In the set up booklet or website (can't recall which) it mentions that the R7 tool does not torque the head sufficiently for the R9.

The tools work like a torque wrench - tighten until they click when they are up to the required amount to prevent the head working loose.

I may be wrong but I don't think you can adjust the loft on the R9.

When you rotate the shaft it will change the face angle (open & closed by varying degrees) and the lie angle. But not the loft on the face.

>> TaylorMade Flight Control Technology (FCT) lets you change the face angle, loft and lie to promote up to 40 yards of side-to-side trajectory change
From the taylormade website it maybe that when u change some other setting it reduces the loft.

Bingo.

This is why they put in the ASP (Adjustable Sole Plate) on the R11 so it could be done independantly.

Adjusting the R9 face angle it increases/decreases the loft accordingly.
