.....is using 3gb per month a lot on a mobile phone?

I work in IT so I know just how big 3gb is, but I'm not sure if 3gb per month on a mobile is a lot, a little or average.

i use under 1gb, and i use it "a lot" however, i wait until i am in wifi to update or download apps, i do stream a bit of tv etc when i am out so i think i use approx 800mb per month..

3gb is a lot unless you are going to be streaming lots or perhaps using it for tethering.

I probably use a similar amount as Rooter. I tend to wait until I'm home to update apps or download anything.
Unlimited data was great

My daughter, has enlightened me and HiD that she face times her friends rather than just call them and that she watches a lot of video on facebook.

That explains the usage.

So it's your daughter running up the big bills.
You can keep an eye on how much data you've used.
I have the My 02 app.assume other networks have some think similar

On android I can limit the usage, setting warning limits as you go, and you can view the apps that are using the data, so it might be possible to see if one of the apps in use is the main culprit. That was certainly the quickest method for me to see where my data usage was going.

For me I use my phone a lot, email browsing social networks, and don't get anywhere close to my limit of 500mb. Not downloading every email received is useful for reducing the data usage, plus as said above ensuring you have wifi access.

Personally I would just say stop using FaceTime unless your on wifi, that would make a huge difference and wouldn't impact the usage of the device.

That's 'So Unfair!'!

'You are just embarrassing!'!

Sound familiar?

I was repeatedly going over my limit, I was advised to download onavo from the App Store, it operates in the background and shrinks data usage. It's worked for me and it's free. Once it's set up you don't need to do anything. I think it's on all platforms.
