Question for the Older folks on here.

We've always had lots of rain but what I don't remember is these God-Almighty cloudbursts that last about 10 minutes, dump a million gallons of rain on you and then revert to "normal" rain.
We didn't get that sort of stuff when I was a kid - or if we did it was rare.....

yep - like the one we (Kent) are expecting tonight!

Think I stopped having birthdays at sixteen...

Pestilence (Sockets rat).........

1961 was a terrible year, and wagon wheels were 5 times the size and cheaper and came in a paper bag, mind you we played with irons like butter knives and a ball the size of a pea and your all weathers were tweed!!!!! good times.

We've had rain in biblical proportions down here in Devon this week.

Power cuts last night for 8 hours, back to candles and torches. The kids found it hard to cope without the laptops and tele...bless em.

had that with mine a couple of yeas ago, they were like addicts needing a fix! I think it was off for about 4hrs, the longest 4hrs I have ever had to endure with my kids :D

little bit off topic but rain related :)

I was in wembley a few years when the Tornado touched town in Willesden Green, NW london. The storm passed over my head on its way to willesden (2-3 miles).

It went from normal daylight to dark in seconds. Bloody street lights came on and then went off again after a few minutes.

The Rain/Hail that fell during that 5 min period was the worst I ever seen. Grew up in N.Ireland so seen my fair share of Rain.
