Switched on my laptop tonight to find a Yahoo toolbar has been added that I didn't ask for!!

It's a flippin nuisance, I don't want it. It takes up screen space and reduces viewing.

Any ideas how I can get rid of it - please.

Thanks. :mmm:

It'll only remove what you click on. I do it all the time. But if something does go wrong, you can always use System Restore to revert your computer to a previous date. When you delete something, it is actually still there, but the system recognises it as vacant space when required.

Click on the bit that says "Uninstall" it will ask you if you are sure, just follow it through

You'll be fine

Sorry, I'm not getting this.

This is what I'm doing:

Click on start

Click on control panel

Click on add or remove programmes

Highlights in blue

I can't see anywhere about Yahoo or uninstall

Should I right click somewhere?

A frustrated Golfmmad

Do you have it on Firefox? If so, you'll find it's an extension.

Remove it from tools add-ons/extensions.

It'll either be installed (in which case you remove it from windows add/remove program/features) or enabled within the specific browser.

I had to get rid of it recently, these damn things come down from cyberspace included in other downloads. Horrible.

as per RGDave's reply then

stealth installs some of these things, should be bloody illegal!!!!

Trouble is guys, I just don't know where to go, to do as suggested.

You do like a challenge don't you?

Thanks Phil,

Did all that but couldn't find Yahoo toolbar.

In That case

open firefox
look at the top and it says "View" Click it
Click "Toolbars" and click yahoo toolbar to take the tick out of it

That should be it Sir
