Is calling a golf course a 'Track' cool and hip ? and is it equivalent to wearing a baseball cap back to front. Not sure if i have heard Peter Alliss call it that or if he ever would.

Loads of people call it that on here. It's not a word I use. I'm not sure if it's a word local to a particular area or age group though.

not to sure sometimes i call it track and then i would tend to call it a course depends on who i am talking to

If it's a nice course I tend to call it a course.
If it's not a nice course ie Goat Track I tend to call it as such

Nice track can mean it's a decent course, if it's a bad course I've heard plenty of colourful descriptions that never mentioned track!

Sometimes repetitive use of the word golf course can get a bit boring, so track is an alternative. Also easier to type.

I'm not sure where I picked the phrase from but I tend to use it a fair bit. Just another way of talking about a course. Not sure its that bad

One of my golf mates uses the term for girls!! ha ha
