Queensferry Crossing

Flew into Edingburgh last month must say it's a stunning looking bridge.

Btw always wondered which golf course is the one when you fly in and it's close to the Forth, any locals know?

Could be one of several. The one closest to the river is silverknowes, a decent municipal course, planes on approach tend to go close to it before flying over my in-laws house!

Nearest the airport is turnhouse and you can probably also see royal burgess, bruntsfield north of the airport and maybe gogarburn south.

Think it must be Silverknowes as that's the one I see closes to the river. Thanks

Queensferry is named after 11th century Queen Margaret of Scotland
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth is Queen of Scots.
Scotland will seek independence from the United Kingdom.

Good try, could do better.

Think it is more correct to say that the SNP will seek independence from the UK. Whether the Scottish people back that plan or not still looks like a very close call.

No it wouldn't. The Greens also back it, as do the SSP, plus factions of the Labour, LD and yup even Tories.

Ok fair enough, the SNP, a couple of minor parties and a handful of disaffected MPs from the 2nd and 3rd parties will seek independence, but still more correct than saying Scotland will seek independence. At best a little over half of Scotland want independence depending on which polls you choose to look at.

Rumour now is that it's opening tomorrow so they can say it opened in August but will be fully or partially closed next week so they can finish it.... :)

We had a bypass where I live where that happened. Presumably it ticks the boxes for the contractors and politicians. A little empty when you can't use it though.

50,000 folk walking across it at the weekend, they must be allowing a couple of days after to pick up all the rubbish they discard. :fore:

Sounds like you will not get a view when you drive across due to 3m high wind barriers.
It will be like driving in a roofless box.

We hope to drive across it tomorrow, if it's open. I remember driving my 1955 Austin A30 across the old forth road bridge, the day it opened 53 years ago.
We had to que for miles, then wait to pay at the toll booths.
