I have seen Bob Mac's video but I am brain dead. I also have his " Yes contraption" and I am OK with that.

The problem is:

1. Not still
2. Lifting up.
3. Not taking far enough back KEY which results in
4 pulling to the left5.
5. Poor follow through

Probably the YIPS from 5 ft but not all the time.

After I miss when I try again it is easy.

Somebody said on Saturday that I should stop playing which has made me more determined.

My mind I'd cluttered with information( useless) and read/ watched Danny Maude/ Faxon.

All I want is 2/3 swing thoughts. Eg take it back to big toe. Head still, follow through.

Help Help Help please!

Well reading all that, the problem you have is you don't really have a clue what your problems are.

You've taken in advice online from people who know what they're talking about (unlikely to work anyway) so now you're trying to make it a million times worse by asking a bunch of amateurs....

Go and get some proper lessons if you really want to sort it out.

I am no expert putter, however, one simple thing someone said this summer has improved my putting measurably.

Do the prep, set up over the ball, look at the hole once, back to the ball and make the stroke - no hesitation.

I don’t normally recommend them but in this case have a putting lesson but maybe one whilst your having a playing lesson

For long putts. If you are not swinging back far enough.

Try standing with a slighty wider stance than normal and say to yourself.

I need to swing the putter head outside my back foot on the way back.

Appreciate your help. Tee to green is OK. I was off 12 a few years ago but age arthritis and other health issues have caught up.
Last week 2 winter greens, shortened course , preferred lies I had 40 points with( apologies )43 putts it was 18 holes, not 27!

2 or 3 swing thoughts on a putt is far too many! Pick a line, set up, hit the ball on that line. That's it. Thoughts are best on the practice green.

I got 2 putting lessons. Weird but it helped heaps.

One for drills. The best one for distance was. Put a tee at 2mtrs. Put another at 5mtrs.

Putt 6 balls. First one as close but past the first tee. Then the next putt just past the first ball but before the second tee. Continue with the goal between the last ball you hit and the second tee.

Its helped with distance greatly.

The second lesson with a different pro was actually on a trackman putting setup.
Its was about holding the putter correctly and then angle. I found my 70degree wasn’t right. I needed a 73 degree.

Got that and I’m all lined up straight now.

I’m sinking about 4 to 5 more putts. Mainly from 1 to 3 mtrs.

Line. Dragging/ pulling to left, probably because I am not taking it back far enough and jabbing.

One of the tips on here about taking the club back to the right toe has worked well tonight on the carpet. Just need to take it to the course
I had a similar issue and tried going left below right grip. My thought now is to ensure the back of the left hand pulls through towards the hole.

It's difficult in the winter - greens are often a bit rubbish, the same putt can bobble different ways. I try hard not to let it get in my head, as that way lies madness.
Also, do you video your set up and putting stroke? It's amazing how obvious some set up and stroke issues are to spot, even to the untrained eye.

In my humble (higher handicap) opinion, the OP needs to go and see someone face to face and get a lesson. His mind is scrambled when he stands over a putt and no amount of drills and videos on here are likely to help long term. He has tried all that sort of stuff before and that is why he is in the situation he finds himself in now. He needs a full reset and not more drills and videos form the forum - however well meaning they may be.

I had one putter and one putter only that I couldn't stop hitting it left. No matter what way I tried to hold it or swing it the thing went left.

It's the only one I've sold on ebay.

Sometimes it is the putter haha

There are 3 potential sources of force used to putt the ball...
In no specific order...
1. The wrist hinge
2. The hip turn.
3. The shoulders rocking like a pendulum

1. The wrist hinge is controlled by fast twitch muscles and are difficult to control, especially under pressure (Hence the V-Easy)
2. The hips turning is an unnecessary movement which can cause problems with direction, especially misses left.
3. The shoulders are controlled by slow twitch muscles and are therefor easier to control.

If you rock your shoulders, turn your hips and hinge your wrists, it will be almost impossible to control the amount of energy used in the stroke.

The wrist hinge is therefore a no-no, as is turning the hips.
If you can stop those and ONLY use the rocking of your shoulders, you will find distance and direction much easier to control.

Use the V-Easy with the chair drill above, you will soon learn how it feels to only have one source of power to control and you can adjust it by changing the length of the swing.
Hope this makes sense
