Make sure if you miss it's at least passed the hole. You aren't even giving it a chance if you leave it short.
The hole will never come to the ball so you have to find a way of getting it running past the hole at a speed that gives it a chance to drop and not make the next a knee knocker. There's no short cut other than working on your pace judgement and holing those little ones although a simple putting lesson with your pro would highlight any technical issues
