Putting mats - are they worth it?

Have never had a putting mat, but thinking of getting one now just to get a bit of extra practice in. Are they worth it though, ie do they play at all like grass in regards pace? Are some better than others?

PS: At the moment I am using a damp towel to practice my putting on, seems to emulate the current weather conditions very well!

I use the boomerang ramp. It has helped my distance control a lot. Very pleased with it for the cost and ease of use with it only needing 2 balls

I've considered a putting mat but worried about it creasing or not staying flat?

Unless you've got a shagpile carpet why bother?

Got one over a year ago does help without doubt a great investment

i had one years ago and although fine for honing your stroke i found i was leaving my puts short when on the proper stuff,use it now and again just to fine tune but do all my practice putting on the practice green at the club even though they are faster than our greens on the course!!!!!!!!
