Putting long shaft in putter

Quite fancy trying the belly putter out, but don't really want to shell out a lot on something i might not get on with. So would a good option be to buy a long shaft on ebay and put it in an old putter i have lying around? Easy enough to have done?

You may find you need to change the angle of the shank where the shaft goes into the head. It will probably be too flat

Will the swing weight need changing Bob with the shaft being lengthened?

You can add weight till you're happy with the balance.
Dont know why you want to change though.

It's more curiosity that anything else. My hands are too active in my putting stroke, so maybe the long putter would help.

Have you considered calling into your local Pro Shop and explain you are considering purchasing a Belly Putter. They may have a demo one you can try out.
