Putting Aids

If it helps then use it.
I'm not a great fan though.
If the arms hung straight down from the shoulders then perhaps haviing the eyes over the ball may help as that would encourage a straight back straight through swing.
However, there is an angle, preferably at the elbow which means there's more likely to be slight arc to the swing.

As long as the golfer can present the putter face and swing path to the ball in a consistent manner I'm not fussed how they do it.
I do know however that the fewer moving parts you have when putting, the easier it is to be more consistent.

I agree.

It adds to the fun to chase a 3footer with your right shoulder every now and again though ;)

I have a pretty repeatable putting stroke and don't miss much inside 6 feet, but the one practice aid I do like is the hole reducer. Use it before a round on the putting green and then when on the course the hole seems massive. More of a mental thing I guess but works for me.

A couple of Tees and concentration.

My path is ok most of the time but I tend to use too much arm instead of the shoulder
pendulum thing.
So, concentration is my preferred aid.

I got numerous aids that I use from time to time depending on what I need to work on but the one I like the most is the T Stroke. It keeps the fore arms parrallel and that helps keeping the blade square on an arked path.
