Anybody had the pleasure ? If so any hints and tips, i have looked on the website and looked at the planner so have a reasonable idea what to use on each hole. Surprisingly i have chose to use my driver 5 times which could could be a good thing :)

anyway hints and tips this way please :)

Thursday, i was looking at groupon but ended up booking through tee off times, some reviews have it down as tricky but their own web site has it as good for high handicappers.

will let you know how i get on :)

From memory:-

2nd hole, you either need to hit a 200 yard rescue under the tree in the middle of the fairway, or a high driver over it, not too far in from there TBH (its a par 5), hedges also left and right on the drive.

4th - anything left can feed into the water, take a club to about 175-185 then leave a long club in for your 2nd (par 4) to eliminate the danger.

12 - look at the angle of the 12th fairway (when you walk on the 11th green, to see if you want to hit over the corner and how much to cut the corner., if you do want to cut the corner play a club you hit to about 200yards.

14 - lay up before the crater rather than trying to be big and ending up in the crater, it will still only be a short iron in.

16 - long is better than short (par 3).

17 - unless you can hit a draw, take a long iron or rescue wood as anything right can block you out, still reachable in 2/3 apart from that (par 5). Be careful left on the approach.

The greens were always slow/mossy when we played there regularly 2-3 years ago, but a decent layout.

Enjoy.

Haha!

Think it's the other way around!

Ps, got given a box of Callaway sports soccers finest as a present, will bring them along o fire into the water!

Funny that, i just had a trip to soccer sports, picked up the last box of srixon soft feel's. Read some good stuff bout them, usually use the ad333's so wanted to see if these where good.

Well what a lovely course, the greens where in fantastic condition as was the course but they where fast, fast but true. I shot 97 which i was pleased about and after calculating my putts i putted the course in 30 putts. My plan that i went with was executed well but i lost my tempo i was out in 47 which was only 3 over for my (unofficial) handicap and parred the 9th and 10th and birdied the 17th helping me to come in in 50. My biggest problem today was my approach shots they let me down considerably and started wavering a lot on the back 9.

I had 5 x 3 off the tea so i figure i could have saved 10 shots and come in around par to +1 on my (unofficial) handicap.

use this http://www.pryorshayes.co.uk/course-planner/ especially if you know your distances, i used it and found what i had planned to use before i got to the course was the correct clubs for me to use.

All in all a very good day and i will certainly be visiting again.

Thanks for this! Will let you know how we go on (and how many balls we lose) ! Think I could be in trouble if you had to reload 5 times! You will have to let us know if you fancy a game some time!

There's a dog leg left par 4, can't remember which one but I found the safe drive is to go straight over the trees and cut the corner, if you slice it you will be on the fairway, if you hook it you will be on the green, I hit a perfect driver straight over the tree's leaving myself 40 yards in, walked away with a 5 :)
