Provisional Ball

Why is it when you hat your provisional ball it nearly always ends up on the center of the fairway ?.Is it just sods law or is there more to it.

Its because there is less pressure on the shot being the second? Just relax fella and let the sub conscience do the work.

Probably because you deliberately relax and hold back to ensure that it goes straight.

What's more is the great provisional ball you just hit is then redundant when you find the original with a bad lie or poor dropping options...law of sod, methinks.
