Promising start

I went down this morning to play with my normal saturday 4ball. It wasnt to plesent when we were waiting to tee off. Anyways, only 2 of the others turned up so we had a points comp between ourselves. Handicaps against me, but sure thats all the fun. One guy plays off 18 and the other 13. £2 a skull at most I was losing £2. Well I thought I was going to have to play good golf to even have any chance. After 9 holes I was 1 point in front. Then it happened, I ran out clear winner by 8 points. I played very well, shooting 42 points (off 3). 3 under for 18 holes with 2 bogies. I played a few silly short shots but got away with my par's. So I'm really looking forward to the new season starting. Hopefully get my handicap down to 2 again.
Did anyone else have an interesting Saturday golfing?

Gave my new sticks an airing for nine holes (back nine closed) and hit the ball pretty well. You'll probably have to ask Hywel for a more balanced review but I thought I hit them ok. Course was sodden and we had frequent showers and a strong wind so not easy. I managed to nick it one up and we were only a couple over better ball so not too shabby. I've only hit my PW twice so far. Stuck it nicely on the green with one shot and chipped in with it on the 9th for a winning par

Played matchplay and think I drew the short straw against an 18 handicapper who got 8 gross pars and a gross birdie. Made it tough for me giving him 8 shots (off 3/4s).

Managed to birdie the last to halve the match, play to my handicap and breath a sigh of relief.

Some good signs for the new season and hopefull of a drop to 7 or 8.

I played in a 4bbb 15 hole comp we came in with 38pts I was on the card 10 times my mate 5 and we won Ha.

I was too drunk all day to get to the club.

Managed to do my back in on sunday with my pitching practise too so all in all a fun weekend. Looks like I'll be out of action for awhile.

Congrats on the good round. I was looking forward to the season after some ok rounds, knew there were better ones in there waiting to come out soon but looks like it might be a season of taking things easy and not doing much.
