Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

I hate to use the word....so I'm not ...but Shane has thrown this away...2 very poor shots under the circumstances..
Par to win for Nacho...

I missed it as I’d just nipped up to the bottle bank…..

He hit the shot he had in his head as the one shot he didn’t want to hit i’d imagine, but, it was a great end to the event nonetheless - just not so much for Lowry.

Very entertaining tournament. I thought that Lowry would march to victory, especially after his drive on eighteen. Nacho pulled it together and took the trophy. Well done.

Seem to have our share of hot heads from the Isles!

Interesting he's given the DPWT/Dubai swing a swerve.

Bob at owgr 6th, and Tommy at 3rd, somehow doesn't feel quite right to me - but not complaining. Interesting to see how their years go.

So what happens if they don’t pay the fines ? Resign from the tour and then can’t play Ryder Cup - will Rahm and Hatton take that risk
If it bothers him that much, McIlroy should pay their fines. Or better still, pressure the DPWT to look after its own interests rather than those of the PGA Tour.
Few have driven the division quite like McIlroy, and he continues to do so.

What does the PGAT have to do with anything - why is it the automated response always to point to the PGAT

This the DPT - golfers membership of that tour and the rules of that tour .

Rahm and co have a choice , pay the fines ( shouldn’t be an issue with the amount of money they earn ) or resign membership

While Rory and Ryder cup are mentioned (& I’m sure it isn’t Rory’s doing) Another ‘matey’ group for him for first two days this week

How does he get paired up with his ryder cup bessie mates so often in DPWT events and could it ever creep into him receiving a sporting advantage

It’s same with most tournaments- create marquee groups for telly , every tournament comes along and they create the big groups , don’t mind it in tour events but imo when they do it in majors it’s poor

It's also as simple as fewer mobile camera crews are needed to cover all the biggest names for closer/better camera shots than each hole's fixed camera can provide alone, when a single camera group can follow 3 big names at once.

The 'Strategic Alliance', aka the 'PGA Tour cartel framework'.

I can understand that in the smaller tournaments as such

But not in majors

Imo that should always be as random as you can get , they used to do it very well for The Open

Anyway - outside the standard response of PGAT this and that and Rory etc and the whys and where’s

What do we think Rahm and Hatton will do ? Pay the fines to allow them to continue to play on the DP as some have done which allows them to play in the RC

Or resign membership as others have done ?

Yeah I can see the whole marquee thing (but for telly specifically it doesn't matter all that much if player B is on the other side of the fairway or a hole behind) but i think there has to be limits. I mean he plays a minimum of two rounds at most DPWT tournaments with 1 &/or 2 ppl he's way more than totally at ease with.
It's like us getting to pick our PP's for day 1 of club champs, it would never be the default but the Tour are affording him that benefit more often than not

Why would they pay them? They're waiting for the DPWT to make a decision on the matter.
