Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

Did she play the wrong club, a 3 wood instead of her driver?
She could easily clear the bunker with her driver but tried to play safe and the rest is history.

Yep, but driver brings the bunkers on the right into play as well as the chance of running out of fairway left. 😉

Tough hole. Second shot is also semi blind and uphill with a huge slope up the the green.

I don’t think anyone really cares about who wins the Fed ex,other than the players.
It’s just a way of making rich golfers even richer 🤷‍♂️
I think this is exactly it for me! Could not care less about the Fed Ex cup if anything that’s around the time I stop watching golf because it’s just about very rich golfers earning obscene amounts of money.

Much preferred the old Order of merit system where players were just competing to see who was the best golfer all year, others trying maintain top 120 status to keep their card. Fed ex has just convoluted the whole thing in order to pander to the American sports compulsion for play offs.

I don't really know what the answer is, but never really bought into it

I've never really cared for it. The guy writing the article seems to suggest it's unfair if the top guys start with a head start, but it's also unfair if they don't. So the answer is scrap it altogether? Unclear.

Agree with the other comments really, just another money-spinner and a pointless competition overall.

It is unfair either way, but as a spectator why would you want to watch a tournament where the best player starts x number of shots ahead of everyone else? Just makes it completely pointless, just give Scottie the money.

That was definitely the feeling of how it played out last year. Imagine rocking up on the first tee at your place; you’re playing your mate who’s just that bit better than you; it’s over 4 rounds so that superiority will win out AND they get a 10 shot start. 🤣🤦‍♂️

The Fedex Cup is golf's equivalent of football's Club World Cup
Not sure that it's a very close equivalent to anything. Most championships/world cup/ pay offs etc. However well you qualify you don't get a huge advantage . The best that might happen is an improvement in seeding or home advantage. In the fed ex you get a stonking advantage.

If they really wanted to beef things up they should turn it over to knockout match play with seedings according to where you are on the money list.

Edit missed the article and didn't realise they'd changed it. Still think a matchplay would work for them.

I will go against the grain here... I actually like the fed ex... Added bonus it's a wee warm up to the ryder cup this year..

End of season money spinner, marketing hype it up like it’s the climax of the season, in reality nobody cares who wins, no history or prestige, players going through the motions to pick up a huge amount of money. I could be describing either competition.

I wouldn't say that I like the Fed-Ex per se, I just see it as another golf tournament, generally with a decent field and the potential for some interesting golf.

I'm watching it now, if it holds my attention, I won't switch to the rugby league. Tomorrow night, I will definitely be watching the football and come the weekend I will watch as long as it engages me. In this respect it is like any other tournament, just golf.

Come on Tommy boy - it’s only the 2nd round but you’re making us dare to dream again!
Think this course suits Tommy very nicely - greens themselves look innocuous and it’s not absurdly long, so it’s basically an iron hitting contest...
