Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

I am out šŸŒž

It would be nice if you didn’t infect every discussion with consent Liv nonsense though.

There's a perfectly healthy discussion to be had as to whether Potgieter would attract interest from LIV to be part of the Stinger team - who have a player that is struggling. That is not LIV nonsense.

The nonsense is coming from people that feel like they have to reply, often with worthless comments about members of the forum, that add no value to the discussion.

LIV is part of the professional golf world now and will be for a long time, accept it, or ignore it completely - it's up to you.

Was the likes of Potgieter a player they looked at before he won at the weekend ?

Only 20 - gone through the pathway

Is there not more value for LIV to look at the pathways and look more at their qualifying tournaments to try and attract the Uni players

Find a way to gain some links

The college system is a big part of the pathway onto the PGAT

And also look at some spots for a Monday qualifier as an example ?

If only there was a LIV specific thread for it....
... oh wait...

That’s a very valid point… if only those that don’t like LIV stayed out of the LIV thread. I’m just being a little facetious highlighting that both sides of the argument are dipping into both threads. ;)

Everyone is allowed to disagree, and also scroll past posts that grind their gears.

Finish 4th round in Italy on Sunday evening after playing/practicing for past 6 days, plane to Uk, get practice round in on Monday then play 36 holes Open qualifying finishing on Tuesday evening, plane to Germany, 9 hole practice on Wednesday then start 1st round of next tournament on Thursday

Who’d want to be a tour Pro… I dam well would! :p

I spent over 10 years of my working life living out of a suitcase and flying from place to place each week.

The novelty wears off quickly and it's not healthy. I don’t envy them that part of it.

Yeah I’ve done the work/travel bit too and if the ā€˜work’ wasn’t golf I’d give it a miss these days too

The guy won the Amateur Championship…that alone is no guarantee of professional success, but it’s highly competitive and clearly an elite field. Why wouldn’t that alone be enough to generate interest?

He won the Amateur in 2022 , LIV at that time were busy trying to buy current touring pros etc

So we are only allowed to contribute to threads if we have positive things to say?

Is the Liv thread not to discuss the topic of Liv?
There was a separate Liv thread to discuss the actual golf, but that died a death once the burner account disappeared.

Talking about the Liv golf in here wouldn’t be so bad. But Mel doesn’t, he just infects it with nonsense.

If the posts are going to be relentlessly negative, then yes, stay away. That just becomes trolling and is not welcome.

If people took that attitude across all threads, relentless negativity then the forum would soon collapse.

Like James Piot (2021 US Amateur champion), David Puig (WAGR #9) and Eugenio Chacarra (WAGR #2)?

And signings in the last couple of years include Caleb Surratt, Luis Masaveu and JosƩle Ballester (plus Luis Carrera, who's played as a reserve).

Sounds like fun šŸ˜‚

Can’t remember who said but there is the old adage - just get better which is less travel 😁

I've asked this question many times. IMO If a poster is allowed to inject nothing but glowing praise for LIV golf, then why can't posters disagree and post their disdain for it? Respectfully, of course.
Totally agree with the separate LIV thread that was abandoned by LIV fans' comment, because they simply don't talk about the LIV tournaments.

*big sigh* is that really how you read my post, or are you just spoiling for an argument? Really?

My post was a tongue in cheek reply to someone else, and needs to be taken in context. I even said I was being ā€œa little facetiousā€¦ā€ ending with a winky smiley.

Fairly certain my post finishes with ā€œeveryone is allowed to disagreeā€¦ā€

If you’re deliberately picking holes with a tongue in cheek post you need to get out more…
