Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

With the best will in the world I can’t see how the ball ‘rollback’ is going to do what they think.

On today’s PGA tour event Potgieter is regularly driving it over 350 on the flat with no wind. The last two par 5s he has hit drive and 9 iron, they are both between 550 and 600 yards.

Will knocking 10 or 20 yards of this new generation of players really achieve what the authorities want? I don’t think so.

Correct - complete waste of time. All it will do is give the big hitters a stronger advantage than they already have.

Is that how it works - anytime someone does well on other tours then offers come in ?

But I thought the days of offers had come to an end ?

That's generally how life works isn't it.

You do well at whatever it is you do, it increases your value to those who can utilise your skills.

Potgieter will inevitably be on the radar for Stinger.

Have they not stopped buying players now with contracts ?

As a winner on the PGAT now the doors are wider staying there if no big contracts , what’s the use in him going to LIV to them pretty much disappear like McKibbin

Tom McKibbin picked up 650 grand yesterday mate - if that's pretty much disappearing I wish someone could make me vanish. 😂

As for players being offered paid contracts - I suspect that they are still very much on the table for the right player.

Does it always come back to money ?

McKibbin was prob looking to be one of the names to be part of the European Ryder Cup team , challenge for PGAT events , the next step up and was someone people talked about

For most fans along with the like of Meronk - he has disappeared from any sort of golf limelight

It gets to be a bit crass when a young golfer wins the biggest event of his career and you are just looking at what money it takes to get him to LIV

The tour is leaking money at a great rate , they need to look at getting money in as opposed to what money they need to spend to get players in

You know, the LIV number that we all get from birth, it's like your national insurance number or your credit score. 😄

Our club champs coming up in a couple of weeks, hope I play well and my LiV number goes up.

I mean I get what Mel is saying, but calling it a LiV number is a bit daft, makes it sound like the FTSE. His value to LiV would do just the job.

Uh oh...

Really is disappointing that, sure anyone that listens to the chipping forecast is rooting for him to do well, listening to his post round interview on Saturday I thought he’s a stick on to see it out, not sure what that would’ve meant for getting his card back but having to WD must be even sore passing up probably 20 grand in earnings at least, although pretty sure with his career in the past he’ll not be short of a bob or two

Mel is obsessed with how much people he has never met earn. Very odd behaviour.

I find it very odd that he is so concerned about the financial situation of a group of people who have already earned multiples of what he will in his lifetime.
