Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

Gutted for Fleetwood - but it just seems that he is a bit too much of the nice guy that everyone says about him.

He doesn't seem to respond well when someone starts to hunt him down.

Two massive putts to reign him back messed his head up imo.

He was saying in the interview at the end that he needs to practice more - putting in particular perhaps.

I think he needs to be getting the likes of Bob Rotella between his ears more than that.

The worst thing about Tommy coming second is that the worst person in golf that plays so slow and if he was in your group of a weekend, you'd 100% move to another group got the win.

Keegan is the worst. He has a face you want to slap and he plays so slow that if there was an actual clock on playing your shot, he would get shots added at every round he played.

Hopefully tommy can bounce back fast.

I hate to use the word choke about any golfer, let alone a fella like Tommy Fleetwood, but it’s difficult to describe that finish any other way.

The look he gave his caddy as he rolled his par putt in on 17 almost told anyone watching what was going to happen on 18.

Sorry to say it, but if he can’t close a tournament out with a two shot lead and three to play, or even make a playoff with a one shot lead stood in the middle of the 18th fairway, I question if he ever will win a PGA event.

Yeah - totally threw it away. Bottled it big time - how do you come back from that?

Today won't be easy for him reflecting on the opportunity he gave himself over the first three days.

Bigger picture - look at what he has achieved, focus on that and build some positivity for a shot at retribution in the Ryder Cup.

Do you think anyone has told Bradley yet that he didn't win the Ryder cup last night? The bug eyed look, the chest bumping 😳, he might not turn up in September, he thinks he won it yesterday.

Has Tommy talked about the change of club on his approach to 18? He looked a club short, was the correct one the club he swapped out?

He will come back, every time your within 8ft of the hole , do you birdie? .. No.
But you know to keep making the opportunities.. Tommy will make more opportunities and he will get over the line.
Jack Nicklaus always said be in around the top 5 because there is always an opportunity to win .. someone may gift it you.
I suspect this will be the nature of Tommy’s win .. he will be there in the top 4-5 and it will be a collapse

He said they were unsure what the wind was doing - the tone of his voice when explaining why they were unsure of which club to hit suggested to me that they knew that had cost him the win.

Most players choke at one point or another, and have that brain fart moment. Chokers are players who do it too often. It wasn’t the best of rounds by Fleetwood right from the start bogeying 3 of the first 4 holes. He had the chance to pull away from the opposition but ended up dropping back into the pack. Good on him for going a couple in front but it was a brain fart finish.

Will he come back from that? I very much expect he will, he’s too good a golfer not to.

To me the missed putt on 14 cost him the win. It was easier than 18 - and with less pressure. If he makes that (when Bradley getss a very poor bogey) then he's out of sight and the others would have to go for hero-shots into every hole from 15-17 - when you inevitably miss at least one.

When Tommy raced his birdie putt 6 feet past on 17, I thought here we go, but he showed real nerves of steel to calmly stroke it in for par. Then he flushed driver 300 yards up the middle of the 18th fairway and I thought good on yer lad, he’s not going to bottle this.

But somewhere on the walk up the fairway his mind disintegrated. Second guessing club selection for his approach shot was a huge error which he recognised in his post round interview (fair play to him for fronting up to the media straight after the loss). Then his first putt was poor. Then his par putt just never looked like it was going in.

On the plus side, he’s just won $1.76m for second place. I’d happily live with the choker tag for that money.

I've said it before about Tommy...he doesn't hole enough putts that other players do...
Early in the round he had a 3 or 4 footer for par. Didn't even touch the hole.
Those are the sort of putts that he needs to nail if he wants to win over there.
3 or 4 of those over the 4 rounds is a lot of shots to throw away....even if he nails one from 30 feet

Celebration police 🚨
Give him a break, he'd just clinched another PGA win against a very strong field.
Tommy got a good break on 17 and when he nailed it on the 18th I thought he'd go to win but sadly not. Whatever your thoughts on Keegan ,he still had to do his part
