Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

Reflects the sad reality of Keith Pelley's tenure - most regular DPWT events are now minor events with similar owgr ratings to the KFT.
Agreed although as I said strange if the production teams were covering last week why they wouldn't cover this especially with a highlights show on Monday. To be fair there is a gap and the European swing starts in two weeks time followed by the USPGA Championship so I guess those not elgible for the PGA tour are having time off

When was it you think the ET was last “strong” - you have to go back to the 90’s
That's a different question, but you wouldn't have to go back anything like that far.

Anyway, it's one thing naturally losing the top dozen or so players to the PGA Tour (and allowing them to get away with only play a very small number of big events) but it's quite another to send the next best 10 to join them every year and decimate the top end of the regular tour events.

Always had a lot of support well on the DP tour until recently with the top players gettign PGA access. Even now there is a strength in depth and with PGA cards on the line it gives those on the DP tour a huge goal toaim for. How long ago was it Fleetwood and others were regulars. Not that long and certainly since the 90's

Aye.

'In 2016 the 13-event minimum was changed to five events, not counting the four majors and four WGCs; while this change did not affect players eligible for all the majors and WGCs, it made it easier for players not eligible for these to retain European Tour membership while playing a full PGA Tour schedule. The minimum was reduced from five to four in 2018.'

All water under the bridge now though

Those top players have moved across anyway

But the ET has been a “feeder” tour for a lot longer than before Pelly arrived

Top Europeans haven’t been playing consistently on regular events for decades

Montgomerie was prob the last one
