Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

That’s because he bombs it. If I needed a man to hit a fairway under pressure, I’m not picking Rory. And if I need Rory to hit a fairway, I’m not handing him a driver.

Bombing it is key to strokes gained off the tee… As shown by his stats from this week - Accuracy being so poor but him still ranking highly on Strokes Gained.

Pretty much sums up why every pro is on a journey to hit it further… not more accurately.
This is what the stats say as well. if you follow Jon Sherman / Adam Young, they tell you that distance is more important than accuracy.

It's always just USA Fox viewership they quote.

No one else in the world watches golf and we already know the US is the most unpopular place for Liv.

I'm shocked though that The flagship PGAT Players got a bigger audience than an event in a country that has the most distain for the product.

Truly shocking 🤦

Can anyone quote the actual viewership for LiV though is it available ?

Over the last couple of years there seemed that the tours didn’t schedule any events up against a big event

It will affect viewers with a split

Not sure when the other events are but seems a poor choice to schedule one last week

Prob would have been better this week

Bob Mac has hopped over to Singapore for a knock on the DPWT.
Casey has stayed on, assume an invite as Porsche ambassador.
Interestingly McKibbin has also stayed, and is teeing it up.

Is it really 'up against' when such a time difference?
One possible conclusion may be the previous scheduling didn't lead to much in terms of agreements, so maybe mix it up.
If it was this week there'd be 2 events in Singapore 🤷‍♂️

Answer is the players asked for these weeks and this schedule to prepare for majors in the best way, that's why Miami is the week before the Masters.

They (Liv) should do what's in the best interest of their players if they want to have any chance of resigning them?

Players are the most important currency, your tour loses top players and your product becomes weaker

Exactly. Not up against anything, with the time difference, that nobody really is watching LIV, and more or less everyone probably didnt even know it was on. While LIV might have been a rival as a tour, no current event us any rival to a PGAT event, least of all the TPC.

It’s unfair to compare LIV Golf’s current viewership to that of the PGA Tour today. A more reasonable comparison would be how many people were watching the PGA Tour in its third full year of existence.

After more than 50 years of history and heritage, the PGA Tour has had time to build a loyal fan base and establish itself as a cornerstone of professional golf. Naturally, it attracts more viewers.

It’s completely normal and expected that a new tour like LIV Golf wouldn’t have the same following yet — that’s just the reality of building something from the ground up.

Tommy Fleetwood.
Fan of him as a golfer and a person.
'Moliwood' will never be forgotten.
Generally rooting for him.

He's ranked 9th. There's plenty of different ways to determine 'best', is he 9th best on PGAT? Tricky one.

He's made the news for most PGAT earnings without a PGAT win.
With the increased purses that probably isn't that surprising and a nod to consistency.

I suspect if he came through the US ranks, he would naturally have played many more tier 3 & 4 PGAT events and would most likely have won.

Wonder if his game isn't that suited for winning on PGAT, not really a bomb & gauge player, and maybe doesn't have exceptional putting weeks.
