TBH with the RC being a 'home side wins' event these days, fair play to any of them that want to try to play in front of the 'fans' at Bethpage.

Then again, Garcia has said similar before so we'll see if it turns into action this time.

Apologies, at least Hatton hasn't done much recently outside of LIV to suggest that Sergio's finishing position over the season was anything more than a fluke... :LOL:

I really couldn’t care about LiV or OWGR or any other Tour, all I want the top 12 Europeans at the next Ryder Cup on form and available to Donald.

If he or anyone else is on form they’ll be there by right.

Not all of us are interested in the politics of golf and which tour they play on.

It seems Augusta lost a few trees to the hurricanes
It's been said that you can see the 13th green......from the 13th tee......
Could be a significantly different look to the Masters next year....

If necessary they will simply buy new trees, fully grown, and plant them. Money is no option, they can do it if they want to.

(I may be over exaggerating what endless money can do but it can do an awful lot)
 
The way that tree fell down a couple of years ago when it wasn't even windy - I'm surprised there are any left standing at all.

It's a bit of a theatre golf course - dressed up to look amazing (which it does), for one event.

By the time we get to The Masters all the necessary flora and fauna will have been correctly positioned and installed.
 
When these players do it its so close to the chest its indistinguishable to my eye whether its anchored. As bad as it looks, (& it looks really bad) unless I was there with a credit card to slip between thumb/chest then I just have to believe in the on-site refs being content they can’t prove a definitive anchor

I kinda wish they'd got rid of long putters when they had the chance

They are a bit silly, they look very at odds with what a natural golf swing looks like. They could easily say the max length of putters is 36 inches.

I wish they had just kept it as it was - there was no need to ban anchoring
 
I forget the stat, but weren't a high % of the US collegiate golfers anchoring as the coaches were convinced of an advantage - which prompted the rule change

It is putting properly - there is no harm in it at all

They said something like 10-15% were using anchoring - it was typical overreacting

That's because there is an advantage, it greatly reduces the chances of the putter twisting during the stroke.

That's why lots of people are switching to LAB putters and the like, huge MOI and reduces the likelihood of the head twisting.

The game's been ruined! 😭
