Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

The Sceptic heading up this weeks leaderboard - some great team picks for the top 3 by the looks of it.

Bennys Ballers edged back into a slender lead in the overall standings.

Some great golf judging by the highlights, Cam Smith actually got pretty close to Brooks - towards the end.

What explanation did they give for changing the team names ? Crushers, Ripper and Nibblicks and the like were cringe. But they are even worse now ! LIV really doesnt know what it is doing.

Majesticks get some stick and rightfully so but it has to be pointed out how poor the 4 Aces have been this season.

DJ, Reed, Varner are usually solid performers week in week out and Perez seemed to chip in when they really needed him too.
Currently lying 10th out of 13 teams 😲

Well we've got a transfer window now - there needs to be some activity for some teams, and Lee Westwood needs to be questioning whether he takes a break to allow them to strengthen the team - not actually sure if they can bring him in, but Laurie Canter should be in that team.

Anthony Kim experiment continues to flounder.
T52 In Singapore after a good 1st round.

Feel for him.
Massive mountain to try and climb..

Burmester I suppose is the one who is a bit of a surprise from the start of the year. He does give it a clout though so capable of scoring well when accuracy is good.

Young Puig had (impressively IMO) pulled himself up to 104th on OWGR, playing part time in the OWGR ecosystem. However he is currently sitting 43rd in the standings. His 27th place this week meant just missing out on points again.

Also Otaegui (who did play some earlier events), won in China so might leapfrog Puig in the OWGR country standings. Wonder of Rahm might be considering him for next year 🤔

Gonna be quite the challenge figuring out who to follow at JCB. I suspect the 17th will be rammed so we’ll probably do as last year and follow a group for a couple of holes, then wait for a few more to come through.
There are some big draws on that leaderboard, plus plenty more players I’d be happy to watch for a hole or two who aren’t up at the sharp end. (y)

The 9th is a far better par 3 in my opinion.
17 is just a bit of a gimmick.
11 & 12 are decent par 4’s.

Invites to Gooch and Puig today to Valhalla.
Puig has grafted on the Asian Tour and has had some strong results.
As for Gooch, I think he was correct to state he wouldn’t attempt to qualify for the majors, and it’s good to see his achievement of the LIV series champion being recognised.
Another step in the right direction from the PGA Championship (y)

It's probably win-win for Scheffler with him missing quail hollow. Chances are he wasn't going to win (it's May 😉), but many will think he would have won if there. Who's going to take the opportunity?

The drops these guys get are ridiculous. How can Schauffele get a drop from in the bushes, up against a fence because he’s claiming a ShotLink tower that is behind multiple bushes and trees is in his line of sight. He then gets 2 club lengths that get him out the bushes completely. Complete nonsense.
