Not so sure there's enough owgr points available in regular dpwt events these days to make it worth bothering.
The Masters committee should just send him an invitation regardless; and one or two others.

Why? They haven’t done what is required to qualify 🤷🏼‍♂️

Niemann needed to finish 1st to get into the top 50 this weekend, a tough ask but he was only four shots away at the end. The lad is clearly a quality player, and deserving of an invite to an Major competition - if he's not there, it just underlines the pettiness of those that are running the game.

Surely if he hasn’t met the criteria then he doesn’t deserve an invite

No. That's simply difference between meeting the criteria and being eligible for an invite, and ultimately being selected to receive one.
Special invitations are rarely issued this far in advance, especially to players who could yet meet other criteria.

What is the criteria ? He hasn’t had a single top 10 in majors in his whole career

In fact which players have they in the past invited based on that “special invitation”

Back to the golf.

Rory has had a great start with a 2nd and a win whilst not firing on all cylinders. He’ll face stronger fields for sure, but if he gets the left miss sorted he’ll be difficult to beat.

And. 🤞 the amateur can get over the line at the Amex. The boy looks like an incredible talent.

The criteria is open to anyone.

Last year they invited Kazuki Higa and Gordon Sargent (the first American to get a special invitation); in the past 20 years they've issued special invitations to lots of non-PGA Tour players: Shugo Imahira, Shubhankar Sharma, Ryo Ishikawa (3 times), Thaworn Wiratchant, Liang Wenchong, Prayad Marksaeng, Jeev Milkha Singh, Hideto Tanihara, Thongchai Jaidee, Shingo Katayama, Zhang Lianwei. Greg Norman also got one in 2002.

But you know most of this, because we went through it last year.

The masters will have the field they feel is the best

What is special about Neimann that means he should get an invite or indeed any of the LIV players who didn’t qualify

He was playing at Dubai today - Thorbjornsen, looks a great talent

The guy in the Amex - is Dunlap , first Player since Woods to win the two big Am comps
