The career grand slam only became a thing this year. Can't remember when/ if tiger achieved it but assume he did.
Will see how many wins Scheffler has when he's been playing as long as Rory. Is it not 5 majors vs 4 now?

Career Grand Slam has always been a thing - was a “thing” when Woods won it as well as others

It’s a rare achievement being able to win all the majors

And yes Rory still has more majors
 
PGA wins
Woods 82 in 24 years
McIlroy 29 in 16 years
Scheffler 19 in 4 years.


A few others
Vijay singh 34 in 16 years
DJ 24 in 13 years
 
Well no because some of them will be counted twice.
I believe he is 4th behind Mickleson and Singh.
Im not doubting he is a great player but he just misses out on the top level. Scheffler can get there if he keeps it up.

Both Singh and Mickleson don’t have a career grand slam as well

So looks like it’s Rory in the top level below Woods
 
Alex noren is a great player too .
Woods is top level along with Hogan Nicklaus.
Scheffler can get there.
McIlroy is the next level down along with Mickleson,DJ, Rahm,Sergio etc.

I mean, the whole argument’s pretty childish to be honest, surprises me people are taking the bait.

It reminds me of all that rubbish about messi and Ronaldo, grown men arguing about who’s the GOAT. That was tiresome too.

Exactly. Saying Rory is up there with Tiger is like saying Rooney is up there with Messi or Pele
 
Rory has had a great career, but he'll forever be gutted that he took a decade off from winning majors - he really should have won at least 3 more in that time, which I think would elevate him to the level he should be at by now in the majors list. Too early to say whether Scheffler will get there, but he doesn't look like going off the boil any time soon, and I think he will potentially finish his career with double-figures in majors. Can't quite see him matching Tiger's 15, the competition is just too high.

I think the biggest thing Scheffler has over Rory is mentality. He seems to just keep chipping away patiently when he's not firing on all cylinders, and then his A-game comes back. Whereas Rory is 'go big or go home', tries to fire himself into life, which sometimes works, but also quite often leads him to implode.

No one said he is up there with Woods ?

You just said “he isn’t that good”

Because he didn’t win at the weekend

At this moment in time within the modern era Rory is the one that’s above others behind Woods when all majors , tours etc wins are taken into consideration

No one has touched Woods yet

Of course he's good he's won majors.
Scheffler seems to win every other week though. Speith had a little patch where he did too but it didn't last.
Rory has won a lot but it's been sporadic. He's never dominated the game like others
