Hi,
I see a lot of new prov 1's for sale in our local golf shops marked pratice the guy in the shop says theyare perfect balls and he thinks that the only reason they are selling them off cheap msrked as pratice was because of the law suit callaway brought against them anyone buy any of them and are they the real thing.
Mike

Yes they are genuine, a 50/50 split between prov1s & prov1xs in all the boxes I've bought. There are very slight imperfections on some of them, but not enough to affect their performance. I understand that they are last year's model, but by all accounts this is just as good (or better) as the present one. I think this is connected with Titleist losing a court case regarding patents on last year's balls.

These balls are legal in competition, they do have slight blemishes, but the only 'blemish' of any consequence is that they've got "practice" printed on them.

I would guess they are just getting rid of old stock. It has naff all to do with any court case. People just need to move on from that, or we will still be talking about it in 10 years time. As for sales reps knowing the ins and outs of a court case, yeah, right. Bunch of fish wives.
