Well my letter of invitation to the above landed thru my letter box this morning for winning the season ending foursomes. Reading the letter there is the usual dinner and normally 2 speakers, but hisnot this year only one speaker and wait for it a bloody MAGICAIN never heard the like.

This is the adults prize giving not the juniors ,normally around 80 guys who've had a sherry or 2 by the time the speakers start ,its actually one of the members whose doing it ,not for me thanks.

How does everyone else's club do there prize giving?

Ours is just a start of handing out the prizes at a given time followed by a finger buffet and then most drift off home and we are not allowed to take the trophies away from the club at all

I do have a rather nice one to come but as our Captain this year has a special prize to come of his own - called "the pillock of all pillocks" gold award, I haven't decided whether to go and collect mine as the thought of having to shake the t*ssers hand to pick up my cup doesn't appeal much

drinks/dinner/prize giving/couple of speeches/strippers/drinks/carriages

all true except 1 of them:(

Rubbish, winners and partners for a sit down meal and a quick shake of the Captain's hand and a photo. A speach from the club champion at the end to thank the comps committe....blah de blah

A club up the road hold a "men's supper" for their do, just plenty of booze, lot's of banter and abuse flying around - get's pretty lively in that one.

If they had the right Magician it could be...well....magic!

I went to a dinner recently that had a speaker and a magician and the magician was utterly superb and had the adult audience captivated.

Ours is crap by the way.

Drinks, Dinner, Prizes, Disco/drinks

I went to a wedding earlier in the year and between the service and the meal they had magicians walking round doing some quality tricks. Every adult was amazed, some were pushing to get a better view or to be chosen as the magicians helper.

Last year, ours was quite drinks, followed by a speech from the chairman.

Then onto the prize giving, followed by a finger buffet, followed by more drinks and a disco lol

Ours is a fairly mundane affair. Prizes handed out (juniors, ladies and then men), pro shop Xmas draw, club Chrimbo raffle, quick speech by the captain and off home. We tend to save a cabaret act for Captains Day but I like the idea of a magician if he can go table to table during the preliminaries and is good enough to do some bigger stuff everyone can see after

bloody hell - paul daniels is turnimg up in tayport .maybe he`ll make ur hook disapear mate lol at least u`ve made ur smoker - i`ve nothing to get this year first time in 4 years ....bummer

Paul Daniels maybe good mate but he ain't that good as long as Debbie McGhee turns up am no fussed, lol.

To be fair the guy is good just a young guy that does all that David Blaine and Dynamo tricks, he was at the juniors and they said he was good ,really good but not for me.

We've got our squads night out on the Saturday Pub Crawl,Nite club/Titty Bar, Casino ,top notch

He's been in the Royal Berks a fair bit recently for treatment and let me tell you close up Debbie McGee is tough on the eye. Definitely showing her age. He didn't look too chipper either. Dynamo is awesome. Can watch him all day

We have one speaker that follows the dinner and is before the prizes get dished out. BBCs football pundit Chick Young coming this year to talk.

Ours will be amazing this year, we have topless waitresses, a pole dancing competition, free beer and a token for a private dance, touching allowed!

If only Carslberg or I were allowed to organise prize givings!!!!!!!!!!!
