Just had a bet on what I reckon will be the top 4.

1)Man Utd
2)Chelsea
3)Tottenham
4)Man City

I then added the following 3 at £2 for quite long odds.

5)Ar5ena1
6)Aston Villa
7)Liverpool

What does everyone else reckon?

Sorry never did get the hang of this Premiership predicting lark!

Chris

You read my mind!!

We'll be there next year and then - and then my friend - we'll take it by storm!! Top four in our first year - we'll win the PL in our second season.

We'll win the CL the season after that (we've got to give the others a chance..)

Believe my friend!!

If we build it, they will come..

We're on the march with Burley's army..

Then the World Cup and gold in the Olympics and the final accolade the champions of "Strictly Come Dancing"

The mighty Eagles will soar and take over the world..... sorry, have to dash, nurse has just arrived with my medicine!

Now you're being silly - none of the Palace squad can dance!!

They can, however, run the country. I predict that in six years they'll be in power. They'll declare independance for South London. We'll be funded by the prostitution, drug running, car jacking, mugging and burglaries that make our country great!!

Their first action will be to declare war on Essex!! We'll claim LakeSide are our own and run those Gucci loafer wearing, fake tan, cocaine snorting, Reebok classic wearing, Porsche Boxster driving, West Ham supporting wide boys into East Anglia. The shame for them will be too much to deal with and they'll throw themselves, with abandon, into the Norfolk Broads..

Not actually a proper Palace fan, and all that.

But........

Anyone remember :

1978-1979
The 1978-79 season saw Palace lose just four games all season, conceding a club record total of just 24 goals all season, and finished the season with a Friday night game at home to Burnley in front of a still-standing record crowd of 51,801. A Palace win, and Palace would be champions; a draw, and Palace would be promoted, but hand the championship to fierce rivals Brighton; a loss and Palace would stay down, with Sunderland clinching the final promotion place. At half-time the deadlock had not been broken despite Palace's dominance, but a second-half cross from Vince Hilaire allowed Ian Walsh to head the opener, before a great run by Dave Swindlehurst was completed by a finish from outside the penalty area to give the Eagles a 2-0 win, and for the first time, Palace were champions.

Player of the Year: Kenny Sansom

I was there, I was. :p

In the good old days when it was ok to sing 'Brown boy on the wing'. It'd never be allowed nowadays.

PS according to wiki, Doris was player of the year in '79-'80. that can't be right, can it ?

Oh, and top 4

Chelsea
Man Utd
Arsenal
Man City

I'm still not convinced City have bought themselves a defence.

Liverpool could easily get back into the top 4, but if they don't, they'll be destined to be also rans for the next decade or so, which would be rather funny. Apologies to all those who think they've been also rans for the last 20 years or so.

Utd need to invest, but they still have the best manager in the league. Unless this is the 'one year too many' which he will go on for at some point. Which would also make me giggle.

Chelsea still have just a bit too much money. Shame, but there it is.

Spurs will crash and burn.

Arsenal need a keeper. And the rest. And to play Walcott as a striker. TBH I'd sacrifice a title challenge if we actually developed the best English player that didn't make the World cup up to where he deserves to be. And you never know - that title challenge I've just given up on, he might just be the player that does win the title for us.

Villa will slag off their manager.

Everton will go on about how it should be them, not Liverpool, who are the best team in Liverpool. And this year they may well be right. But it will still be a meaningless fact if they are.

PS

Can we finish the season now. I like the look of the table as it stands.

I was there too, standing on the half way line and crapping myself everytime Burnley's only decent player Leighton James got the ball, but he proved to be a real bottler and really gave up wanting the ball and we were home, safe and sound - CHAMPIONS!

Blackpool to be relegated very early doors.

As has been said above, Chelsea have too much money and experience to be toppled and City will use their money to close the gap to Man Utd who should keep hold of second if they can keep the likes of Vidic, Ferdinand and Rooney playing enough games. Massive if though.
